Meeting Minutes - Discussions/Decisions/Next steps from the Brainstorm session as on 18th October 2016 Discussions - Trees to be planted at airport Sanjeev suggestions - Gulmohar is the tree as it can - 1- Repel Birds 2 - Grow with less maintenance.After a year need not water 3 - Tree saplings are available in the forest department, you will give us the contacts. 4 - Pit hole to be dug 2ft deep/2ftWidth/2ft length 5- Need to plant this tree 10ft distance from the wall. 6 - 25ft height 7 - 50 years plus life span. Abhi suggestions - Bamboo tree - Does not attract birds/horizontal roots/retains water Trees that grow horizontally -Names to be shared Trees No fruits and min flowers max leaves Tree that looks nice with thorns on the trees Trees grow on top of the root Trees/plants for Commercial buildings. - Abhi - Terrace Gardens in commercial buildings to cool down the temperature and reduce AC/power costs. Sanjeev - Creeper from Sicus family - grows well on the concrete walls/compound walls.He also shares his inputs when he came NASA's experiment for choosing best trees that can be taken to outer space so that they can generate more oxygen, he suggests that we need to find out such trees in India's context. Abhi will take on this as an action item and get back to us with the details.
