#Gender_Sensitization and #Prevention_of_Sexual_Harrasment (PoSH) Workshop at #Indian_Institute_of_Technology #IIT_Dharwad --------------------------------------------------------------------- Being an IC Committee member at IIT Dharwad it's one of my main aims with the other members to create a vibrant, safe, respectful and healthy environment for all our students and staff irrespective of their gender. It is very important that we begin the conversation between the sexes to understand each other's experiences thoughts and feelings, get rid of taboos and stereotypes, respect and celebrate our individuality and strengths and become aware of how to express it from a level of psychological and physiological excellence! Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harrasment were also discussed and understood through case studies, role plays, group discussions, quiz and interactive sessions. The issue of consent was discussed in detail. All the students were empowered with knowledge and skills. I thank IIT Dharwad and our Commitee's chairman Ms.Ridhima Tewari for having organized this impactful workshop which will definitely be an important step forward towards creating a mentally and physically empowered and healthy environment at IIT Dharwad. I strongly believe every institution and company should take this step forward and conduct such workshops resulting in a safe, secure, harmonious and positive atmosphere!
