Three days review of Science, Tech and Engineering. The kids gave presentation about what they learnt. They scored a perfect A / 100 out of 100 Very good job. Today we started on Art. Children sang, told stories and poems:

  1. Twinkle Twinkle : Learnt about stars and sun - our closest star
  2. Mary had a little lamb: How lamb is an engineer and makes wool from sun/water.eart and air
  3. Johnny Johnny : About truthfulnees
  4. Song: Rabbit and tortoise : To be steady. not to be overconfident. run our own race.
  5. Story: two monkeys and rabbit : cheeze division - to be fair and honest. Not to give our work to someone else.
  6. Song about brother and sister - begging and challenges: to give the best. we never loose lessons
  7. Song: Lord made the day: We have only today. to give our best to today. not to worry about yesterday or tomrrow.
  8. STory: Axe story: golden/silver one given - he doesnt accpt. only takes what is his: honesty and not greedy
  9. Parrot story: To be respectful and listen to elders
  10. Song: ABout the daughter telling the father to love as one is vs preaching and teaching.
  11. STory: elephant bird and monkey: respect elders. engineers all are.
  12. SOng:
The 4 interns: You will write a poem or create art work to share what you have learnt over the last 4 days .. or share your art or creativity plus any lesson you learnt from it. All other kids: Can write about the story or song and what they learnt from it ... Great session. I will talk to you Monday..

Today we had our Teaching Tree Session for the third time. I would like to thank Abhi sir for teaching us today. Firstly we had remembered the learning points that we had learned from the yesterday lesson. the learning points are

  1. Electricity is produced by the vibration of the atoms.
  2. Solar panels are also produce electricity due to the vibration of atoms.
Today our lesson was according to the subject Engineering. today we had discussed what the engineering is? As our discussion with Abhi sir, the engineering can definite as looking a thing that is in the nature and make a new thing. Abhi sir had got some examples to explain about the engineering to us.
  1. right brothers invent the aeroplane by imagine the movement of a bird.
  2. In a submarine there is a gadget named sonar. The sonar is invented by imagine the dolphin.
  3. The compass is invented by imagine the tourism birds. They have a compass structure in their beaks.
The steps of engineering are
  1. Creation
  2. Maintain it well
  3. Change
Once again thank you Abhi sir.

We have learnt about Science and Technology. Today we are going to brainstorm: Engineering What is Engineering: -Building of various things - like building, roads, vehicles and technology and more .. giving ideas -Making air craft and rockets Where did the idea to make a aeroplane come from? -From a bird Where did the idea to make a submarine come from ? -From a fish Sonar is the device that helps to know how deep is the ocean is. -dolphins already have the sonar to know the depth Compass shows us direction. How do the birds know the direction on where to fly? -The birds have the compass in their beak.. that is how they find direction. From where die we get the idea for electricity? -from lightning All engineering good ideas come from nature, animals, environment So for engineering anything .. where do you start? In the nature... Key Engineering Concept :

  1. Creation or building
  2. Maintenance
  3. Change

Engineering is about using what is in nature

vs recreating and building from scratch.

This session had to end abruptly...

The students are requested to do their home work and post here their understanding of the lesson and any ideas/observations from nature that they observed.

Protect yourself and others from the spread COVID-19 You can reduce your chances of being infected or spreading COVID-19 by taking some simple precautions:

  • Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.
  • Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and others. Why? When someone coughs, sneezes, or speaks they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person has the disease.
  • Avoid going to crowded places. Why? Where people come together in crowds, you are more likely to come into close contact with someone that has COVID-19 and it is more difficult to maintain physical distance of 1 metre (3 feet).
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth. Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and infect you.
  • Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately and wash your hands. Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene, you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.
  • Stay home and self-isolate even with minor symptoms such as cough, headache, mild fever, until you recover. Have someone bring you supplies. If you need to leave your house, wear a mask to avoid infecting others. Why? Avoiding contact with others will protect them from possible COVID-19 and other viruses.
  • If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention, but call by telephone in advance if possible and follow the directions of your local health authority. Why? National and local authorities will have the most up to date information on the situation in your area. Calling in advance will allow your health care provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections.
  • Keep up to date on the latest information from trusted sources, such as WHO or your local and national health authorities. Why? Local and national authorities are best placed to advise on what people in your area should be doing to protect themselves.

Today we had our Teaching tree Session for the second time. First of all I would like to thank Abhi sir for teaching us today. Today firstly we had remembered the learning points of the lesson that we had learnt yesterday. The learning points are

  1. Everything around us is made from soil, water, sunlight and air.
  2. They are made from atoms.
  3. Atoms are made by protons, neutrons and electrons.
  4. Protons are positive.
  5. Electrons are negative.
  6. Neutrons are neutral.
Then today our lesson is the subject on Technology. Today we had discussed the way electricity is producing. Sir had told us to get a magnet and another thing that is attractive to the magnet. From that the learning points that we had got are
  1. When the both sides are same the magnets are not attack.
  2. When the sides are different to each other the magnets are attractive.
Sir had taught us that the electricity is also producing like that. sir had shown us a video about how the electricity is producing. According to the video we had learnt that from a vibration of atoms, electricity produced. Electricity, radio, television, computer are all invented by Nicola Tesla. Home work: Question- How does solar panel create electricity? Answer- when we put a panel out in the sunlight, the sunlight falls on to the panel. Then the atoms vibrate. From that solar panel produce electricity.

THIS IS WRITTEN BY ALL OF US WHO ATTENDED THE SESSION: Today we had our first Teaching Tree Session. Firstly I would like to thank Abhi sir for teaching us today very clearly and well. We had understand the science lesson well. At the beginning of the session Abhi sir had taught us the meaning of the word STEAM. That is, S- Science T- Technology E- Engineering A- Art M- Math Then sir had asked from us the interested lessons in Science from each. According to the lesson Abhi sir had taught us that for a plant, it wants four factors. They are

  1. Water
  2. Soil
  3. Air
  4. Sunlight.
Abhi sir had taught the lesson taking an example. A cow eat grass. For the growth of the grass it wants the four factors that I had mentioned above. When the cow eats the grass The cow had get for its body the four factors. We get milk from the cow and drink. We get cow dung as fertilizer to the plants that we had grown. When we drink milk we also get the four factors to our body. When we put cow dung as fertilizer to the plant the plant get the four factors. When we divide our body to small parts, in the small part there are the four factors. Then Abhi sir had taught us, the furthest thing from us among sun, moon and stars is stars. I think this lesson is very interested one for all us. We had learned many new things and we had remind our knowledge too. Once again thank you Abhi sir.
