We had discussed about 3 questions. They are
- Is the water from the rivers flowing UP or DOWN to the ocean?
- What is the ground floor of the earth? Why do you think it is the ground floor?
- What are the Benefits and challenges of building dams on the river?
The water always flows from up to down. Only there a water pressure the water flows down to up. But normally water flows up to down.
If we cut the Earth we can see the structure of the Earth. It is
- Crust
- Mantle
- Core
So the ground floor of the Earth is Core.
These are the advantages of building river dams.
- Reduces production of greenhouse gasses such as Carbon Dioxide.
- Can prevent uncontrolled flooding.
Disadvantages are
- Very expensive to build
- Large scale wildlife habitat destroyed by river valley flooding.
