Date - 4th November 2025 #1.Attendance #35– #2.3p skill session – Topic: Importance of Communicating in English and How to Learn Overview - During today’s session, the importance of communicating in English was discussed with the children. The discussion emphasized how effective English communication can support their education, enhance future career opportunities, and serve as an essential life skill in today’s globalized world. Simple way to learn to communicate in English: To develop their English communication skills, the following daily practice routine was suggested: Week 1: Translate one simple sentence per day from their native language into English using tools such as Google Translator or AI-based apps. Practise reading, pronouncing, and writing each sentence.Week 2: Increase to two sentences per day.Week 3: Increase to three sentences per day, and continue to gradually build up from there.This consistent practice will help them gradually gain confidence and fluency, enabling them to communicate effectively in English. #3.Plan/Next Steps – 1. Quarterly event held on 9th Oct – The interns to write a summary of their understanding from the session by 13th Nov @ https://iinventme.org/paid-internship/comment-page-13/#comment-8403 2. The interns are requested to conduct sessions in line with their projects that can be broadcast live; they can work with Gerard on their schedule. Aishath was not able to conduct her session last week with school assignments,and will start from this Thursday at 2:30 pm. 3. This Thursday, 6th November at 8 pm IST, the interns from Srilanka will be presenting the gardening and waste management project. The interns who want to present their project every month should let Gerard know during this meeting (the week prior) so that the session can be set up, and the scores will be included in the evaluation for this project. 4. Project update – Interns to update the AIMS section of their CLICS by Monday with the numbers and facts backed with pictures by creating specific links using Google Drive links. On Tuesday, come prepared to present their project in English. 5. For those who could not join today’s session, you may visit https://iinventme.org/internship, and in the AIMS section, you may review this session and reply with your learning, questions, and ideas. 6. Interns take down notes during the session while the topic is being discussed in line with the 3P skill program and post updates to their CLICS with the learnings, questions and any suggestions. 7. The interns are requested to enable their community members to join the internship program, and the scores will be added to the internship evaluation.
