Passion Fruit Tree Planting – Soil & Method
Today, we planted passion fruit saplings using a simple, sustainable soil method.
What we used:
- Local soil
- Sand and small stones for drainage
- Organic matter (dry leaves / natural compost)
- Reused plastic bottles with holes for slow watering
- Water (no chemical fertilizers)
How we did it:
- We loosened the soil to help roots breathe.
- We added sand and stones at the bottom to prevent waterlogging.
- We mixed organic matter into the soil to improve nutrients.
- We planted the sapling carefully, keeping roots straight.
- We placed a perforated bottle near the plant to allow slow, efficient watering.
What we learned:
Healthy plants depend on healthy soil, good drainage, and patient care.
By improving soil naturally, we reduce the need for chemicals and support long-term growth.
This activity connects to AIMS sustainability values—awareness, responsible action, and learning from nature.
Strong soil today means strong vines tomorrow.
