Passion Fruit Tree Planting – Soil & Method

Today, we planted passion fruit saplings using a simple, sustainable soil method.

What we used:

  • Local soil
  • Sand and small stones for drainage
  • Organic matter (dry leaves / natural compost)
  • Reused plastic bottles with holes for slow watering
  • Water (no chemical fertilizers)

How we did it:

  1. We loosened the soil to help roots breathe.
  2. We added sand and stones at the bottom to prevent waterlogging.
  3. We mixed organic matter into the soil to improve nutrients.
  4. We planted the sapling carefully, keeping roots straight.
  5. We placed a perforated bottle near the plant to allow slow, efficient watering.

What we learned:
Healthy plants depend on healthy soil, good drainage, and patient care.
By improving soil naturally, we reduce the need for chemicals and support long-term growth.

This activity connects to AIMS sustainability values—awareness, responsible action, and learning from nature.

Strong soil today means strong vines tomorrow.
