Overview – In today’s session, we discussed with students the importance of developing habits and mindsets that help them learn effectively and retain what they learn. The focus was on understanding how learning happens best – 1. Discipline forms the foundation of effective learning. It includes: Showing up on time. Being punctual helps students start their day with structure and focus. Valuing and respecting time (yours and others’). Time is a valuable resource; using it wisely ensures better learning outcomes.Being organizedKeeping study materials, notes, and schedules in order, helps reduce stress and improve focus.2. Concentration – Make sure that you are concentrating/paying attention when you are learning. We need to listen and observe with concentration, which will enable us to understand concepts/make the learning process effective.   3. Ask Questions – Clarify Your Doubts. Never be afraid to ask questions! If you don’t understand something, ask. Clearing doubts immediately helps avoid confusion later. 4. Take Notes – For Remembrance, notes help you revise and remember what you’ve learned. Maintain a notebook specifically for learning. Write down key points from lessons. Add your own understanding or summary below each point. Make your notes clear, neat, and include examples for better recall. 5. Practise Keep referring to your notes regularly. Apply what you’ve learned in real life – it makes learning meaningful. Practice repeatedly until you’re 100% confidentRevise often to avoid forgetting.
