Watch /Listen: 3P’s skill development session held on 15th September@ at Children's home for boys, a DCPUD unit by clicking here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEkhvpaUzFY Overview – In today’s session, we discussed with students the importance of developing habits and mindsets that help them learn effectively and retain what they learn. The focus was on understanding how learning happens best – 1. Discipline forms the foundation of effective learning. It includes:

  • Showing up on time
  • Being punctual helps students start their day with structure and focus.
  • Valuing and respecting time (yours and others’)
  • Time is a valuable resource; using it wisely ensures better learning outcomes.
  • Being organized
  • Keeping study materials, notes, and schedules in order helps reduce stress and improve focus.
2. Concentration allows students to absorb information deeply and connect better with what they are learning.
  • Listen and observe with full attention.
  • Active listening in class and paying close attention helps improve understanding.
  • Be focused – stay in the present moment:
  • Avoid distractions and multitasking during study time.
  • Practice mindfulness techniques:
  • Meditation: Helps train the mind to focus better.
  • Prayer or quiet reflection: Can help calm the mind and center thoughts.
  3. Ask Questions – Clarify Your Doubts Never be afraid to ask questions! Curiosity is a sign of active learning.
  • If you don’t understand something, ask.
  • Clearing doubts immediately helps avoid confusion later.
4. Take Notes – For Remembrance, notes help you revise and remember what you’ve learned.
  • Maintain a notebook specifically for learning.
  • Write down key points from lessons.
  • Add your own understanding or summary below each point.
  • Make your notes clear, neat, and include examples for better recall.
5. Practise
  • Keep referring to your notes regularly
  • Apply what you’ve learned in real life – it makes learning meaningful
  • Practice repeatedly until you’re 100% confident
  • Revise often to avoid forgetting.
Assignment –
  1. Students are to make notes from today’s class and present their understanding during the next session.
  2. Students to complete the SWOT analysis and Golden Circle in line with their career pursuits/goals.
