About
Why:
AMI Tsunami Children’s Home is an idea that manifested when the family was saved from the Tsunami of 2004. The purpose of our efforts is to support children in need in SriLanka.
How:
Provide kids in need with boarding, education, career and medical support. In addition we hope to provide leadership, frame work, guidelines, design and consulting for those interested to start and run a Children’s home.
What:
Enable our children in SriLanka to grow into healthy, happy, responsible and successful citizens.

It is like a school. our teacher is a Abhi sir. He taught us well. Our teaching tree session has five subjects. they are Sciences, Technology, engineering, Art and Math. A subject of engineering he will taught us many things. Any people who will build a house, air craft or any new things. They are engineers. Like earoplane right brothers were build an earoplane observing birds. The submarine has a device called a sonar. The idea for making the sonar came from Dolphin. The compass is made from the imagination of tourism birds. The beaks of tourism birds have such a structure. it says the nature and environment give us an idea form make new things. We can learnt many things from this lesson.
The steps of engineering are
Abhi Sir taught us many things we do not know. Thank you Abhi Sir for teaching us those things.
We cam get many work from the waste.
We all can see in the world people throw many things that can be used. I can certify that from a small try we can make important things for the people that is thrown as waste. For an example when we take the country Japan, the sports items, dolls are produced by the waste like pieces of glasses and clothes. In Sri Lanka we can see milk tins and fish tins among the waste. From these tins we can make toy carts and kerosene lamps easily. We can collect the kitchen waste and make manure and put them to the vegetable, fruit and flower plants. From this we can get fresh fruits, vegetables and beautiful flowers. Many people throw their clothes when they could not wear them. I think we can give the clothes to the poor persons who are in the world.

Three days review of Science, Tech and Engineering. The kids gave presentation about what they learnt. They scored a perfect A / 100 out of 100 Very good job. Today we started on Art. Today our lesson was according to the subject Engineering. today we had discussed what the engineering is? As our discussion with Abhi sir, the engineering can definite as looking a thing that is in the nature and make a new thing. Abhi sir had got some examples to explain about the engineering to us.

This week to the WM bin we had put kitchen waste by drying them in sunlight. We had put coconut powder, tea powder as normally. In addition to that we added banana peels, Some parts of eggplant, leaves. water melon that we do not get to eat. There are many created in the bin. We put waste and mix it well everyday.
Today we had our Teaching tree Session for the second time. First of all I would like to thank Abhi sir for teaching us today. Today firstly we had remembered the learning points of the lesson that we had learnt yesterday. The learning points are Everything around us is made from soil, water, sunlight and air. They are made from atoms. Atoms are made by protons, neutrons and electrons. Protons are positive. Electrons are negative. Neutrons are neutral. Then today our lesson is the subject on Technology. Today we had discussed the way electricity is producing. Sir had told us to get a magnet and another thing that is attractive to the magnet. From that the learning points that we had got are When the both sides are same the magnets are not attack. When the sides are different to each other the magnets are attractive.
