As my phone received messages over night from friends celebrating, I woke up thinking what is the essence of this festival which will help me celebrate Today.So I read a little, to realize, the words used in synonym with this celebration were “Sacrifice, His will, Father, Son, Attachments..” , but what I took away was “Surrender”. To tell what I mean:Three years ago, when my children moved out from home to embark on their own life journey, I was constantly worried about the “what if”. Months later of this non stop worrying, sitting in the car one day, my heart beat started racing, I started sweating and thought my time had come. So I made a sharp right to go to the emergency/hospital, and almost rear ended a car, only to see the sticker on the bumper: “surrender to him” ..I pulled over to the side remembering my grandma and other elders who would always say “it’s all His plan or Everything is in his hands” whenever something good or bad happened.
