Hello all,

Engineering is an art of having the aspects of Science and Mathematics work in unison to create something inspiring that has mostly lead humanity in a positive direction.

To help kids understand and grasp the extent of what can be acheived, it is important to introduce them to the “Engineering Mentality” – Which is innovative thinking with a never quit attitude. We have an idea > we try to build it > we fail ‘n’ number of times > we finally finish it and learn something.

Introducing automation which is currently used in the industry to kids in a way that they can understand how to use the concepts they are learning now leads to the end product is difficult, so I decided to start with a Arduino project. Arduinos are extremely versatile and easy to program and as a 1st iteration of this project I am building an automated cell powered by ardiuino which acts as a visual aid for the kids to learn the concepts

The idea behind introducing automation to school curriculum was imbibed from a project I was a part of while doing my Master’s at RIT.
It was an automated S’mores making cell which included a Fanuc iR robot and Rockwell Automation PLC.
This setup attracted a lot of attention from the kids and they we equally interested in the automation and the S’mores that the cell made.
