Center for Learning, Innovation, Creativity and Startup (CLICS) supports the students in the children’s home(s) in SriLanka.
About
Why:
AMI Tsunami Children’s Home is an idea that manifested when the family was saved from the Tsunami of 2004. The purpose of our efforts is to support children in need in SriLanka.
How:
Provide kids in need with boarding, education, career and medical support. In addition we hope to provide leadership, frame work, guidelines, design and consulting for those interested to start and run a Children’s home.
What:
Enable our children in SriLanka to grow into healthy, happy, responsible and successful citizens.

STUDENTS

The AMITSU kids presented their Time Table : Lashit,Shalika,Charuka,Rumeshani,Hasarel,Thenuka,Lahiru,Madumala,Hashen and Nehara,the remaining will present during the session on 17th Nov. How do we manage our time : 1.Respect our time as well as the others time. 2.If you are going for a math class from 9 am to 10 am make : Does not mean that if you go at 9 am you are managing you its one of the factor but how you participate what you learn from that one hour defines if you have properly utilized that 1 hour time. 3.Have reminders like time tables. 4.Prioritize your work based on 24 hours a day or the days you have in hand to complete your work :Idea to manage your time as mentioned as. below Important and urgent. Session: Skill Development & Management Topic Covered : Time Management in terms of personal and project management concepts- How Do we waste time ? Lack of discipline in our daily route and not respecting ours and other time. No planning of our activities in terms of what is to be done , when to be done and how to be done. Do not apply creativity in our work or activities. What can we do to better manage our time? Have disciplined life time and value ours and others time. Set a start and end date / time for each of your tasks or work. Be creative in your approach while working on any of your tasks. Set reminders to perform your tasks or work.examples: Time table,email calendars ,project portal Choose a part of a day or time that you can complete your urgent and important tasks or work. Session: Science Which has the most number of users: Drugs, Cigarettes, Alcohol or PHONE? The algorithms driving social media, technology and apps Realized i am addicted to the phone and why I go to check the likes or comments or .. constantly I keep going to the phone when an alert comes I keep going to other links because of recommendations or other alerts The business model of all social media or free platforms such as youtube is : to sell advertisement to companies But in order to sell advertisement they have to show how many users/subscribers are there and how much time they spend on their platform So they want to keep you on their platform as long as possible Thus the recommendations, alerts and other aspects such as “like button” “followers” “streaks” and more … So what should I do: Switch off all non essential alerts , keep the phone away at home, delete apps that can be accessed on the computer and are not essential STOP clicking on recommendations ONE SMART PHONE AND FAMILY SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT(S) PER FAMILY .. so children come to understand how to use phone and social media vs getting addicted We all… Read more »

Sustenance and growth was discussed in line with –
1.How AMITSU is creating food for themselves keeping in the mind food is expensive in the country which also helped them in the pandemic lockdown
2.Cross training and learning among the AMITSU kids
3.The Invent program and brainstorm helped kids an additional advantage towards online education and execution.
4.Consulting business opportunities that can arise from the gardening and waste management projects.
