Center for Learning, Innovation, Creativity and Startup (CLICS) supports the students in the children’s home(s) in SriLanka.
About
Why:
AMI Tsunami Children’s Home is an idea that manifested when the family was saved from the Tsunami of 2004. The purpose of our efforts is to support children in need in SriLanka.
How:
Provide kids in need with boarding, education, career and medical support. In addition we hope to provide leadership, frame work, guidelines, design and consulting for those interested to start and run a Children’s home.
What:
Enable our children in SriLanka to grow into healthy, happy, responsible and successful citizens.

STUDENTS

Topic Expectation Management.(cont… to 25th Nov) 1.Expectations : How we assume the result or outcome based on experiences, situations and learnings from each result. 2. Factors that influence Expectation Management : Time/Time Management. Task Management. Assignment: Learning from todays session with examples of your own and questions that you might have from todays session from me. Remarks: Participation and interaction was good. All the kids have attended the sessions per the curators. The kids have been updating their assignments on the AMITSU AIMS platform. The session was moved from 10 am to 12pm as the some of the kids have to use to computers for their school assignments. The session was reduced to 60min from 90min as the kids needed to take lunch at 1pm. i-INVENT Nabros at AMITSU organized virtual panel discussion on 20th November 2020. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world Hence discussion also geared towards Study Life Balance during these COVID Times. Following were the curation questions 1.Study @ Home vs Study @ school 2.Technology usage and balance 3.Communication needs for remote vs onsite study Four students from AMITSU were selected as panelists and students shared their personal experience in line with questions . Session was conducted for 1 hour 15 min. last 15 min was Q&A Following are the discussed points- Students feel that studying at college is more effective than studying at home In school its more fun to learn with your friends . students can ask doubts and get answers directly and have one to one discussion Few students feel that online classes helped them to get motivated to study , online classes have helped to understand the subjects. Technology usage has been same in this pandemic and it has its own pros and cons. They see cartoons in TV and use most of the time for other activities with friends.
