Topic – SWOT Analysis –

Overview –
In today’s session, the children shared their updates in terms of their projects and AIMS in line to practice their communication skills. The SWOT analysis was briefly introduced to the students as they had an office visit that came up last moment, the session will be continued during their next session.

The SWOT analysis will enable one to identify their internal strength and weaknesses (AOI) and understand the opportunities they see based on their strengths and what could be the possible threats if they do not work on their weakness.

Topic – Give the best and learn from every result.

Topic – Substance Abuse/Tobacco Awareness.

Overview –
This topic was curated and conducted by Dr. Umesh Hallikeri, MBBS MD. Consultant Oncopathologist at The Karnataka Cancer Therapy and Research Institute, Navanagar,
Hubballi and Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Dharwad.
During this session Dr. Umesh Hallikeri explained to the children how drug/tobacco consumption can harm our physical and mental health, he also shared the harmful ingredients used to make drugs/tobacco. The doctor also shared that one should not be included by influential people promoting drugs/tobacco and not engage with people who consume it.

Dr. Umesh Hallikeri told the children to stay away from drugs/tobacco or any bad habits they need to practice good habits, learn new skills, have a goal and keep working on it, and over-focus on their studies and careers.

Overview –

In today’s session, the children were practicing communicating and sharing ideas / AIMS via a question and answer session where each child asked 1 question to the curator and 1 question was asked to the child and they had to respond.

They also learned 3 skills that they needed to put into action to become the best in whatever they were doing –

• Listening and observing with concentration.
• Take notes.
• Ask question.
• Practice with patience and perseverance.

Assignments –

• The students are to update their CLICS with the question they asked the curator the response they got the question the curator asked and the response they gave, this needs to be completed by this Friday 13th Dec.

Topic – Organic Pesticide

This session was presented by Minhia from Sri Lanka and iINVENT intern and student preparing for the O/L examination.

Mihina presented her project “Organic pesticide for plants” which she started with 3 other team members.

Accomplishments –

The pests and insects spoiling the plants have reduced.
Plants are growing well.
It helps to reduce the number of mosquitoes at home.

Plan/Next Steps –

Create a larger quantity of organic pesticides. Research more about how to make it more effective .Trying to grow garlic at home. Teach other people to create organic pesticides.The next session on 13th Dec will be presented by Nishadhi, she will send her ppt for review by coming Monday 9th Dec.
