Topic – Self Defence

Overview –

This session was conducted by Harishatha, an International-level -level Karate athlete and a qualified national-level Referee and trainer.

During this session, she explained and demonstrated techniques of self-defence during the time of emergencies with the students. The trainer instructed the students to use these techniques only when they are in harm to defend themselves and not to harm others for personal gain/unnecessarily.

3p’s skill development online session held on 13th May @ Observation Home For Boys, a DCPUD unit. Topic – Spoken English classes (parts of speech) Overview – This session was conducted by Yasmeen M, M.A., M.Ed., an Assistant Teacher at the Govt. High School Shri.S R Bommai,Gokul Hubli. During this session, she taught the children the different types of verbs as part of English grammar that would help them to communicate in English. The following was covered as a part of the session – A Verb is a word used to express an action or a state;as ⮚ Anu writes a letter. ⮚ Salt dissolves in water. ⮚ Raju is eating ice cream. ⮚ He is a farmer. ⮚ It is a leather bag. TYPES OF VERBS There are two kinds of Verbs. They are following. 1. Finite Verbs 2 .Non-Finite Verbs 1.FINITE VERBS Finite verbs are limited by the rules of number, person, gender, and tense. This session was conducted by Annapoorna Assistant. Prof Master of Visual Arts and a freelancer, and pursuing her PHD in Fine Arts.

Topic – SWAT Analysis

Overview –

In today’s session, SWAT analysis was discussed with the children, in line with their goal/career pursuits. It was mentioned to them that they need to have a goal which will give them a direction in their life, and they need to opt for a career based on their strengths and skills and beliefs. The SWAT Analysis framework was discussed to assist them in identifying their strengths to achieve their goals and what shortcomings they need to work on that may be a hindrance to them in achieving their goal.

Topic – The 3 C’s for effective communication –
 

1. Clarity – writing / speaking with clarity enables the receiver of the message to understand better and effectively, and for this, we need to have clarity in our mind, which comes from being prepared, which enables clarity of thoughts. – Clarity in thought is the key.

2. Consistency – writing/speaking to the point or to the subject enables the audience/people to remember and understand easily what we are trying to communicate. –  Be to the point/subject.- Start and end point + call to action.

3. Completeness – When we are trying to pass any information while we are talking or speaking, we should provide all the required information with clarity and concisely. And when we are trying to get any information from someone, we should listen or see with concentration, this will enable us to get the required information we need.
