Topic: Good Touch and Bad Touch

Overview –
This session was conducted by Dr Deepti Joshi is currently working as a Pediatric Ophthalmologist at M M Joshi Eye Institute, Hubli, Karnataka. In addition, she is professionally taking care of Children’s eyes, she is passionately involved in various activities about safeguarding children against child sexual abuse. She was a pioneer in conducting an activity to educate 2300 teachers at a single time in a single place in the year 2020, which was enrolled in the Limca Book of World Records. 

During this session, she explained to the children/inmates the following points –

Understanding Good Touch and Bad Touch, and its causes.Options to protect/safeguard themselves against Bad Touch/sexual abuse.How can Bad Touch/sexual abuse occur over social media platforms/digitally.

Topic – Drawing classes

This session was conducted by Annapoorna L a drawing lecturer and freelancer.
During this session, she taught the children to draw geometrical figures/shapes and to colour them.

Topic: Importance of understanding what we like – 

Overview –
1. We should focus towards understanding what we like, buying something materialistic or working/career, this will help us know what we want and need.
2 . When we do something we like, we will enjoy that thing/work and will give our best as our attention/concentration will be towards it. Also, we will not end up buying what is unwanted and be happy with what we have, as we like it.
3. When we like what we do, we give our best towards it, and it helps us to grow.
4. Why understanding what we like is important in design, because we will focus and give our best to the work we do, regardless of the result, and this will lead to the best output, enabling our growth.
5. Whatever we do, be it our education, work, have food, etc, we should start creating a liking towards it and do it with focus/concentration.

Topic: How to identify one’s goal –
Overview –
In today’s session, the following points were discussed with the children –

One should choose a career path based on their passions and interests, supported by their skills and competencies, to achieve their career goals.If one chooses a career path based on their interests and passion, they will give their 100% and work with concentration, which will result in completing their work more effectively and efficiently, which will, in turn, enable them to grow in their career.It was told to them to aim for excellence, versus just money.It was also mentioned to them that to excel and grow in their careers, they need to complete a minimum of 16 years of education/degree, aiming for at least 60% marks and also develop the skills of concentration, basic technical skills, and to communicate in English.
Assignment –
Students are to write and share what career paths they would like to opt for based on their passion/interests, backed by their skills and competencies.
