Topic: Importance of having a goal and focus on doing what we like.

This session was conducted by Akhil Kalal an iINVENT ME Intern, a music/guitar teacher and a freelance music artist.

During this session, he shared with the students his personal life story and connected it in line with the importance of having a career, completing 16+ years of education and following our passion as a career.

Topic – Spoken English classes (Introduction)
Overview –
This session was conducted by Yasmeen M, M.A., M.Ed., an Assistant Teacher at the Govt. High School Shri.S R Bommai,Gokul Hubli.

During this session, she told the children about the importance of learning to communicate in English and how it will help them in their education, career, as well as a life skill. As next steps, she told the children to maintain a separate book and complete the notes and assignment and also to participate and concentrate during the session that will kick start from the following week.

Assignment –
There we 2 leaders identified, Ravi and Dharshan, and each one of them is to select 5 students each in their group and send the details to Gerard by next Tuesday.

Topic – 3 priorities for one’s holistic growth.

Overview –

I today’s session, the 3 priorities in one’s life were discussed with the children, which are Health, Education/Learning and their goal and how all three of these priorities connect and enable one’s holistic growth and why we need to maintain a balance between them.

Topic – 3 C’s for effective communication

In today’s session, the 3Cs of effective communication were discussed with the inmates in line with them building relationships, how it would help them at work and also express themselves. The 3 C’s of effective communication are as follows –

Clarity – Here, clarity of thoughts is the key which comes through preparation. When we communicate through any mode of communication, we should be clear, and when we listen or observe something while others share, we should do it with concentration. Conciseness – We should communicate the points in line with what we intend to communicate.Completeness – When we communicate, we should give complete information about the subject, like wise when others are communicating with us, we should try to pay attention to get complete information.
