The evaporation from a single tree can produce the cooling effect of ten room-size, residential air conditioners operating 20 hours a day. It was an honour to be invited as a guest to celebrate World Environment Day with South Western Railways and Bharath Scouts and Guides with a motto to increase the green cover and raise awareness about environmental conservation. More than 100 trees were planted in the school with students adopting them and all the facilities for it’s sustenance have been arranged for. I thank the forest department for having provided some of the trees and the rest were raised in the Railways nursery. An environmental awareness rally with Tableaus, Placards, children dressed as animals and birds was also successfully conducted on the streets of Hubballi. I wholeheartedly thank #Hubballi_Roller_Skating_Club( Hrsc Skating Club) and their Coach Akshay , #Hubballi_Bicycle_Club and their Chairman #Anand_Baid for having joined hands with their enthusiastic team which made it more impactful. We also had a young talented skater create awareness through #Hulahoop skating. Plant a Tree today – Trees slow down heartbeat, lowers blood pressure and relaxes brain wave patterns!
We met the #South_Western_Railways General Manager #Mr_Ajay_Kumar_Singh, Principal Chief Commercial Manager #Mr_Shivraj_Singh and other concerned officers to discuss about utilizing various railway properties which were surveyed by our team for tree plantation. They have big properties which can increase the green cover of our twin cities substantially.
It was a fruitful discussion and Mr Ajay Kumar Singh is very enthusiastic about it as he is a Nature lover too. They have already planted 1000s of trees and look forward to planting more. He frequently plants trees in public spaces during different occasions and also encourages others to do so. We look forward to collaborating with them to make our Hubballi Dharwad Clean, green and beautiful.
I thank my friends from Citizens lead Dr. Mahantesh Tapashetti ( Our Mentor ), Mr. Vijay Sai, Mr. Kumaresan Subramani and Mr. Rajesh Kumar for taking the lead!

Celebrating #65th_Wildlife_Week with #Dharwad_Forest_Division ————————————————————— To Save Ourselves We Need to Protect Our WildLife! The way we are living on Earth is causing an unprecedented acceleration in species extinction. Now, more than half a million species have insufficient habitat for long-term survival and are likely to go extinct unless their natural environments are restored. Awareness regarding this and appropriate measures taken to change the way we live is what we should be aiming for. Keeping this in mind Dharwad Forest Division under the able leadership of DCF Mr. Mahesh Kumar in colloboration with several organizations conducted Walk for Wildlife on the first day of the 65th Wildlife Week. More than 1500 citizens participated and successfully completed this awareness walk throughout the busy streets of Hubballi. A powerful street play by Karnataka Forest Training Academy effectively highlighted the grim situation we are facing now due to our greed and short sightedness and how it might backfire on us if we don’t realize it and change ourselves. The Walk for Wildlife was flagged off by Dharwad’s DC Smt.Deepa Cholan, DCF Mr. Mahesh Kumar, Joint Director and DCF Karnataka Forest Training Academy Smt.
