It can help her lead a healthy, peaceful and constructive life without being victimised by the lack of facilities, taboos surrounding menstruation and health issues arising due to poor practices. Being a promoter of Women’s health and empowerment it was indeed an honour inaugurating the Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing unit at #Hubballi under the CSC Stree Swabhimaan programme. I personally believe this initiative will help in the following ways 1. Provide Employment – Make them financially strong and confident 2. Create awareness to Remove taboos – Empowered with Knowledge 3. Provide Menstrual hygiene training – Enhance Physical health 4. Honoured to be invited as the Chief guest to motivate and encourage women to become Women entrepreneurs and learn skills that can help them become financially independent and confident. As a part of this process women were trained in #Aari Work Design Making. #Mrs_Vijaya the Chief trainer trained these talented women. I wholeheartedly thank Navodyami’s #Mrs_Neerja_Patwari and #Ms_Raajeshwari for conducting this useful workshop for them. May they conduct many more and also impart other useful training programmes for Women.

I motivated the women aged 18-80 through inspirational stories of women who started small and with their vision and commitment have today become successful entrepreneurs. Interacted with the participants on the challenges they might face on this journey and how they can overcome them to emerge as winners. I wish these talented women all the best for their future!

Underrepresentation of Women in Engineering and other Sciences has to be examined in greater depth and we have to overcome the barriers! Only 1 out of 3 engineers is a woman. The All India Survey on Higher Education #AISHE also paints a grim picture.

If Indian Economy has to improve and women have to explore new opportunities then the percentage of women entering the engineering field has to increase. I am glad that at SDM more than 50% of the students are females. The percentage of women staff in the teaching and non teaching section is also praiseworthy.

It was indeed an honour to be invited as a Chief Guest by SDMCET which is encouraging women to tap their talent in engineering fields and make sure every woman realises that she can do anything she sets her mind to. I thank Principal Dr. S.B. Vanakudre, Prof. Vasudev Parvati, Prof. Bharathi Sunagar and others for inviting me to interact with the staff and explore the barriers, new horizons and possibilities of challenging ourselves to bring out the best from within and being in Peak Performance throughout this journey!
