We were all awed by the technology and inventions of Tony Stark in The Iron Man movies. His energizer, robots and technology.
Well, last Wednesday I found out all of the technology we saw in the Iron Man movies was invented and built in the 1890’s…yes the 1890’s by the real Tony Stark named Nikola Tesla.
Robotics, TV, Smartphone, Computers, Electricity to Laser was either invented or pioneered by this one man – Nikola Tesla.
Some of his concepts of transmitting electricity wirelessly in the 1890’s are being understood now in 2010. Fascinated, I ordered most of his books. And to my amazement found out Nikola Tesla is the real Iron Man.
Dear Teachers, Students, Parents, Employers and Employees, Artists, Engineers, Sportsman/woman, Green Activists, Doctors, Philosophers, Politicians and every one else who thought Edison, Einstein, Steve Jobs and some other scientists were the pioneers of our time ..a small correction.. our future was architected by one man in the 1890’s: Nikola Tesla.
Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine – Nikola Tesla.
Inventions and Prototypes built:
1. Electricity+Rotating Magnetic Field (1882)
2. AC Motor (1883)
3. Tesla coil (1890)
4. Radio (1897)
5. Wireless energy transfer
6. XRAY
7. Wireless communications
8. TV/Computer/Smartphone Concepts
9. Robotics
10. Disk-Turbine Rotary
and more

Guys this event occurred the very next week of our BS at HUB – I have pen down couple of facts which is in context to what we discussed on the 21st Sept – Mangalyaan project launched with accuracy and at a lowest cost – beyond boundaries and imagination – M Annadurai, head of the Mars mission, said he was “confident that the laws of physics will favour him….in real terms, the project has cost India just about four rupees (seven cents; four pence) per person – which is chicken feed for a country of 1.2 billion people, making India the first nation to send a satellite into Mars orbit on its first attempt The low-cost and quick turnaround satellite mission has been attracting a lot of global attention from the scientific community that seeks to better understand the mysterious Mars The 4.5bn rupee ($74m; £45m) mission is, “the cheapest inter-planetary mission ever to be undertaken by the world”. It was a very tricky operation – if it did not slow down sufficiently, it would have missed being caught by the gravity of Mars and the mission could have be lost in outer space; but if the rocket engine had fired… Read more »
I thoroughly enjoyed the session. I learnt about Tesla and his inventions back in eighteen nineties. Transmitting electricity wirelessly is new and turning heads now. Some of the ideas/views on- Using various source of alternate energy, Electrical appliances to run on solar energy were the take away points from kids.
I look forward to next Brain Storm:)
Check out this link, funny video of Nik’ Tesla pitching to VC’s:
Last Sundays BS 21 Sep 2014 was just amazing !!
I learnt many facts on technology /alternative source of energy its side effects and how could we use natural energy to the best of its capacity – guess what I learnt all these facts from 10 – 15 yr old kids there we just amazing I felt I was in the midst of Tesla/Steve Jobs/Einstein………….These kids spoke of alternatives to the sun if it sees its end….Our future is now is safe hands…Our kids are better/faster and smarter…….
What we discussed and learnt…
1- Using natural sources of energy to its best of its capacity and its side effects.
2 – Don’t buy what you can make – helps in one being self dependent.
3 – USB – How it limits the use of cables and helps in better ergonomics.
4 – How can we make inventions STATE- OF -ART.
5 – Inspiring stories about Tesla and his inventions.
6 – Ideas have to be promoted and backed up by finance.
7 -Alternative source of energy for the sun. –

7 – Is there a alternative source of energy apart from the sun.
I learned alot from Tesla. I figured out that Tesla had made an amazing hook that was home made while the others had store bought but he caught more frogs and fish
I learnt:
1. What will you do when you don’t have sun energy?
2. How do u use the energy from lightning ?
3. Wirelessly transmitting or using energy from nature and universe
4. Innovating and improving on what we have.
5. Connecting appliances directly to solar
6. Using UV rays
7. Destruction due to use of one source of energy such as wind
8. Steering earth to new orbits around new suns
9. USB instead of plug point
10. Space x
9.
