Overview: A session on Modal Verbs was conducted by Ms Yasmeen M., M.A., M.Ed., Assistant Teacher at Government High School, Shri R. Bommai, Hubli. During the session, Ms Yasmeen explained the concept and correct usage of modal verbs—Will, would, shall, and should —and highlighted their importance in effective English communication. She illustrated how these modals express ability, possibility, permission, obligation, and suggestions. The session helped students understand how to use these verbs appropriately in both spoken and written English, thereby enhancing their overall language proficiency and confidence in communication. During this session, he covered the below – Importance of education and how it will help them in their holistic growth. He also emphasised that every child must complete their education, at least up to the degree level, so that they may have a stable future. It was also mentioned to them that they should avoid shortcuts, laziness, or choosing the easy path, especially in education and career pursuits, as true success comes from consistent effort and commitment and what they receive for free that will support you in your health, education, and career pursuits, be it from your parents, government etc to be considered them as an opportunity and make the best use of them to grow holistically, and please do not waste them. It was also emphasised that our lives are highly dependent on our health; if we have good health, we will be able to study/work better, and also enjoy and be happy in our lives. He also taught a few physical exercises and meditation techniques that the students need to practice daily to develop their concentration skills.

  • We thank MCKS Food for the Hungry Foundation for donating 183 large-sized notebooks to the students from this school to complete their computer notes.

In addition, she is professionally taking care of Children’s eyes, and she is passionately involved in various activities about safeguarding children against child sexual abuse. She was a pioneer in conducting an activity to educate 2300 teachers at a single time in a single place in the year 2020, which was enrolled in the Limca Book of World Records.  During this session, she explained to the children/inmates the following points – Understanding Good Touch and Bad Touch, and its causes.Measures to protect/safeguard themselves against Bad Touch/sexual abuse. How can Bad Touch/sexual abuse occur over social media platforms/digitally, and what can they do to protect themselves.

The focus was on understanding how learning happens best – 1. Discipline forms the foundation of effective learning. It includes: Showing up on timeBeing punctual helps students start their day with structure and focus. Valuing and respecting time (yours and others’). Time is a valuable resource; using it wisely ensures better learning outcomes. Being organizedKeeping study materials, notes, and schedules in order, helps reduce stress and improve focus. 2. Concentration – Make sure that you are concentrating/paying attention when you are learning. We need to listen and observe with concentration, which will enable us to understand concepts/make the learning process effective.   3. Ask Questions – Clarify Your Doubts. Never be afraid to ask questions! If you don’t understand something, ask. Clearing doubts immediately helps avoid confusion later. 4. Take Notes – For Remembrance, notes help you revise and remember what you’ve learned. Maintain a notebook specifically for learning. Simple way to learn to communicate in English: To develop their English communication skills, the following daily practice routine was suggested: Week 1: Translate one simple sentence per day from their native language into English using tools such as Google Translator or AI-based apps. Practise reading, pronouncing, and writing each sentence.Week 2: Increase to two sentences per day.Week 3: Increase to three sentences per day, and continue to gradually build up from there.This consistent practice will help them gradually gain confidence and fluency, enabling them to communicate effectively in English. #3.Plan/Next Steps – 1.
