Topic: Importance of Communicating in English and how to learn

Overview:
During today’s session, the importance of communicating in English was discussed with the children.
The discussion highlighted how effective English communication can support them in their education, enhance their future career opportunities, and serve as an essential life skill in today’s world.

The following was recommended to them to learn English –

Every day, per day translate one simple sentence from Sinhala to English and practise to read and write, the 2nd week learn 2 sentences per week, the 3rd week 3 sentences per day and go on till you are perfect.
Assignment –

In the next class, the students to come up with 7 sentences they have learned to read and write in English and update the same on the CLICS at least 1 hour before the session.

3p’s skill development session held on 24th October at Govt. High school Anandnagar, Hubli – Topic – Importance of health and education – Overview – This session was conducted by Mr Viveknanad from MCKS Food for the Hungry Foundation. During this session, he covered the below – Importance of education and how it will help them in their holistic growth. He also emphasised that every child must complete their education, at least up to the degree level, so that they may have a stable future.It was also mentioned to them that they should avoid shortcuts, laziness, or choosing the easy path, especially in education and career pursuits, as true success comes from consistent effort and commitment and what they receive for free that will support you in your health, education, and career pursuits, be it from your parents, government etc to be considered them as an opportunity and make the best use of them to grow holistically, and please do not waste them.It was also emphasised that our lives are highly dependent on our health; if we have good health, we will be able to study/work better, and also enjoy and be happy in our lives.He also taught a few physical exercises… Read more »

Topic – Steps to find a solution to a problem

In today’s session, the 3 steps to find a solution to a problem were discussed as stated below –

1. Have a taught process of permanently fixing the problem.
2. Root cause analysis – understanding where the problem has started and the cause.
3. Action plan – start working towards a solution that will fix the problem permanently, and seek help from people who can assist.
4. Choose the solution that will fix the problem permanently.
5. Documentation for future references – Write down the Root cause of the problem and the solution applied that has fixed to problem permanently

The focus was on understanding how learning happens best – 1. Discipline forms the foundation of effective learning. It includes: Showing up on timeBeing punctual helps students start their day with structure and focus.Valuing and respecting time (yours and others’)Time is a valuable resource; using it wisely ensures better learning outcomes.Being organizedKeeping study materials, notes, and schedules in order helps reduce stress and improve focus.2.
