It can help her lead a healthy, peaceful and constructive life without being victimised by the lack of facilities, taboos surrounding menstruation and health issues arising due to poor practices. Being a promoter of Women's health and empowerment it was indeed an honour inaugurating the Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing unit at #Hubballi under the CSC Stree Swabhimaan programme. I personally believe this initiative will help in the following ways 1. Provide Employment - Make them financially strong and confident 2. Create awareness to Remove taboos - Empowered with Knowledge 3. Provide Menstrual hygiene training - Enhance Physical health 4. Enhance Mental health through personal and professional transformations 5. Protect Environment - Bio degradable and Eco friendly products will contribute towards a greener, cleaner and healthier society. This 5 pronged approach is highly appreciated and is a great example of how Women our nation's pride and strength can be transformed through this initiative. I congratulate Smt. #Gender_Sensitization and #Prevention_of_Sexual_Harrasment (PoSH) Workshop at #Indian_Institute_of_Technology #IIT_Dharwad --------------------------------------------------------------------- Being an IC Committee member at IIT Dharwad it's one of my main aims with the other members to create a vibrant, safe, respectful and healthy environment for all our students and staff irrespective of their gender. It is very important that we begin the conversation between the sexes to understand each other's experiences thoughts and feelings, get rid of taboos and stereotypes, respect and celebrate our individuality and strengths and become aware of how to express it from a level of psychological and physiological excellence! Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harrasment were also discussed and understood through case studies, role plays, group discussions, quiz and interactive sessions. The issue of consent was discussed in detail. All the students were empowered with knowledge and skills. I thank IIT Dharwad and our Commitee's chairman Ms.Ridhima Tewari for having organized this impactful workshop which will definitely be an important step forward towards creating a mentally and physically empowered and healthy environment at IIT Dharwad. I strongly believe every institution and company should take this step forward and conduct such workshops resulting in a safe, secure, harmonious and positive atmosphere!

It was a heart touching and memorable moment being invited by the Psychology department as the chief guest of the college that chiseled out the unwanted from within me and moulded me into the person that i have become! It was a soulful experience climbing down those steps and sharing the dias with those who mentored me. Karnatak College Dharwad gave me the freedom to be myself and express uninhibitedly my quest for learning and life. Perhaps it was the first time in my life i felt confident enough to not be judged for being vocal, curious, adventurous, inquisitive, bold, modern and liberal. The college nurtured my interests in various fields and supported me to such an extent that i could represent it at various levels in various fields. It gave me the wings to not only fly high in academics but also in extra curricular activities. I will forever remain indebted to my Alma mater for having given me the freedom to be myself which i value the most as i believe everyone realises their true potential and personality only when they are themselves and not straight jacketed by the society! It was indeed very humbling sharing my experiences with the students and explaining how it helped me at every stage of my life. I emphasized on the importance of the beautiful subject that they have chosen 'Psychology', the bright career prospects that they have and how they can become the architects of an exciting future by giving their heart, soul and mind to it. The way we are living on Earth is causing an unprecedented acceleration in species extinction. Now, more than half a million species have insufficient habitat for long-term survival and are likely to go extinct unless their natural environments are restored. Awareness regarding this and appropriate measures taken to change the way we live is what we should be aiming for. Keeping this in mind Dharwad Forest Division under the able leadership of DCF Mr. Mahesh Kumar in colloboration with several organizations conducted Walk for Wildlife on the first day of the 65th Wildlife Week. More than 1500 citizens participated and successfully completed this awareness walk throughout the busy streets of Hubballi. A powerful street play by Karnataka Forest Training Academy effectively highlighted the grim situation we are facing now due to our greed and short sightedness and how it might backfire on us if we don't realize it and change ourselves. The Walk for Wildlife was flagged off by Dharwad's DC Smt.Deepa Cholan, DCF Mr. Mahesh Kumar, Joint Director and DCF Karnataka Forest Training Academy Smt. #CitizensLead distributes #Awards and #Certificates to young Eco Scientists from #AgastyaInternationalFoundation ---------------------------------------------------- CitizensLead distributed Awards and Certificates to students from Agastya International Foundation who had participated in the #AWEHD ( Air Water Earth of Hubballi Dharwad ) #EcoModel competition. Many young scientists had presented their models and amazed us with their creativity and talent. Agastya international Foundation is an NGO whose mission is to spark curiosity, nurture creativity and build confidence among economically disadvantaged children and teachers in India. It was founded in 1999. Students from 40 different schools are a part of this and #AequsPrivateLimited is doing an incredible job of supporting them in this noble endeavour. Mrs.Madhu Lodaya ma'am and Mr.Vasuki sir who had excellently led and conducted this eco model competition distributed the awards and certificates. Dr. Babitha the Director of Agastya International Foundation was also present at the event.
